In an urban environment where the available space is constantly shrinking and the number of vehicles in circulation is constantly growing, parking towers are becoming an increasingly relevant and efficient solution.

The management of these systems is greatly simplified, as multiple parking towers can be controlled by a single control panel, using a PLC that is equipped with a modular system.

Taking as an example a two-level tower, the control is relatively simple, let’s start with the input signals, we need a signal that makes the platform go up, another signal that makes it go down and an emergency signal, we can do this with industrial buttons and an industrial emergency button, we also need it to stop only when it reaches the maximum height point and when it reaches the ground, for this we can use different types of sensors, the important thing is that it is reliable.

In the case of the outputs we have the movement of the motor when the platform goes up and when it goes down, it is also advisable a warning that the platform is moving, this can be done with a light tower or a horn that plays an alarm. Having a total of 5 digital inputs and 3 digital outputs for each single parking tower.

Fatek’s FBs line has a modular system that can have up to 256 input and output signals for each PLC, giving us a large number of towers that we can control with a single system, not to mention that we can visualize everything in real time from a Fatek’s IoT platform iMonitor or Cimon’s Ultimate Access SCADA.
