The DFS61 Short Wave Infrared
The SWIR Digital Fiber Optic Sensor is specially tuned to effortlessly detect the presence of water-based fluids using fiber-optic light guides. The slim-line housing with a protective lid will fit in a variety of small spaces. The DFS is adjusted by a single push of a button; there is no guesswork on the part of the operator. We use infrared light, set to a frequency on the infrared spectrum to clearly detect the water-based fluid. All in all, the sensor’s default settings will work for most liquid detection applications. The DFS is as simple or as complicated as you would like.
Highly Accurate at High Speeds
The DFS61 is highly accurate for the precise detection of liquid levels at high speeds. Choose between two settings High speed (HS) 250μs, Standard (STD) 1ms. No matter the type of container. The DFS61 can detect water-based liquids in various types of bottles. Whether it’s a plastic bottle with multiple contours, a clear glass bottle, or a colored glass bottle. Using short-wave infrared light, the DFS61 can detect the presence of water within the container
Application Examples
This sensor was designed for liquid level detection, liquid detection, water droplet detection applications and so many more. Regarding liquid level detection, we talking about detecting the water level within a container, water bottle, vaccine vile, or saline solution bag? We want to know that the level is being filled to the same point every time. This is accomplished with opposed mode through-beam fibers. The DFS61 uses our glass fibers with 2mm connection. So how this works is that the two glass fibers are set directly apart from each other almost like mirroring each other creating a through-beam. As the conveyor system is moving filled bottles down the line it breaks the infrared light beam and it registers on the sensor. This functionality can be applied to other forms of water-based detection.
