The LLB250 Load Cell is a miniature load button that stands out on its own. Capable of measuring compressive forces up to 250 lbs. with a size of only 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) in diameter and 0.15 in. (3.9 mm) in height, it is an extraordinarily powerful and accurate miniature sensor. It features a custom strain element for robust integration with the sensor housing, as well as built-in zero balance and thermal compensation, enabling outstanding sensor reliability, accuracy and performance. The single-gauge design completely eliminates inter-gauge wiring, leading to improved calibration performance.

Diversity and durability for specific applications

The LLB250 diverse and durable sensor is designed for in-press or in-line compression applications, such as measuring loads on a turbine shaft or evaluating forces on a CNC workpiece. The sensor features a 34 AWG, 4-conductor, 5 ft (1.5 m) long, highly flexible, shielded braided cable. This model can also be modified to suit OEM applications.

Range and Flexibility

The LLB250 series offers load buttons in two capacity options that measure compressive loads from 100 to 250 pounds (45.35 to 113.4 kg). Its highly flexible mounting options include securing from the outer lip, retaining with screws or mounting inside a countersunk hole.

Exceptional accuracy and error reduction

The LLB250 offers highly accurate performance with a nominal deflection of 0.0005 inch and a nonlinearity starting at 0.5%. The spherical radius of the load button has been designed to maintain the highest possible level of accuracy. By minimizing contact with the load arrangements, the spherical shape of the button transfers the load evenly over the sensing area, compensating for possible misalignment.

Rugged, moisture-resistant construction

The aerospace-grade stainless steel body provides exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, as well as enhanced protection against physical damage and other adverse environmental conditions. A special heat treatment process has been applied to the flexor to improve durability, extending the life cycle of the sensor. With an IP64 rating, the product is dust resistant and can withstand splashing water from any direction, expanding the options for applications in wet conditions.

Integrated temperature compensation and flexible cable

The sensor is fully internally temperature compensated, and no external conditioning circuitry is required, increasing accuracy without increasing cost. It also offers flexibility for cable routing and cable length customization. The sensor cable is a 34 AWG, 4-conductor, 5 ft (1.5 m) shielded stranded cable that easily bends within a very tight radius. Although extremely flexible, the cable is not intended for high bending cycles.

Calibration included and high quality materials

The LLB250 has been tested by FUTEK’s world-class calibration department and is NIST traceable. The exceptional quality of this sensor makes it highly durable and reliable. Its body is made of 17-4 aerospace grade precipitation hardened stainless steel, which provides high strength, high hardness and corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range.
